THE GLOBAL HOPE FOUNDATION ("GHF"), established in March 1999 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to developing and facilitating community-based programs in Rwanda and other sub-Saharan developing nations for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Particular focus is placed on the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV/AIDS through a comprehensive multi-component prevention and treatment program in coordination with community medical professionals and regional health authorities.

  • The primary mission of the Global Hope Foundation is the development and implementation of comprehensive community-based HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs in the hardest hit developing nations with the collaboration of local and national health authorities, community groups and other non-governmental organizations.  Activities also include the collection and marshaling of medications and medical supplies for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.

  • Focus is placed on alleviating the suffering of those having: (1) the greatest needs, and (2) the least hope of access to standard treatment. The Global Hope Foundation does not recognize race, religion national origin, political affiliation, ethnicity, sex or sexual orientation as criteria for receiving aid.

  • Working directly with the medical caregivers, the initial focus of the Global Hope Foundation has been assisting children and women with HIV/AIDS at medical facilities in Rwanda. Special efforts are made to facilitate access to medicine for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of the HIV virus and the establishment of medical training programs for the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Assistance will ultimately expand to encompass other parts of sub-Saharan Africa, the emerging economies of Eastern Europe, India and Latin America.
